Application Crashes While Burning With TDK 440n indiDVD Drive

Issue Users with a TDK 440N indiDVD DVD recorder may receive an error message similar to the following when attempting to burn a CD or DVD:

DVDMusicAssista.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program.
An error log is being created.

The TDK 440N drive may appear as "TDK DVDRW0404N" when viewed in Device Manager or the Disc and Device Utility.

Resolution This is a problem with the TDK 440N drive and has been fixed in a firmware update by the manufacturer (TDK). By updating the drive to firmware version 1.0C you should no longer experience this error.

The 1.0c firmware update for this drive can be downloaded directly from TDK by following these instructions:

Go to http://www.tdk.com/support/dvdburners/index.html
Click on the link for your drive model (such as "Indi DVD 4x Internal Multiformat Burner")
Scroll down to the "Firmware Upgrades" section of that page and follow the instructions provided there.
