Adjusting the write speed in Easy Media Creator

Issue Adjusting the write speed is not available or limited to speeds lower than your burner can accomplish.

Resolution There are various reasons and solutions that can create lower write speeds in your CD/DVD burner.

Here's how to change the default write speed preference in Easy Media Creator:
- Open Easy Media Creator Home by going to Start --> Programs --> Roxio Easy Media Creator --> Home
- After Home launches, select Tools --> Options... (NOTE: this will be available in other version 8 applications as well)
- In the Options window, click on Advanced under the General option.
- In the Select Drive Speed payne, you will have the option to select your writer (if you have more than one drive installed) and the burn speeds for CD or DVD burning. Note: If the DVD option is not available, your drive may not support DVD writing.
You could have a recognition or some other basic issue your burner that is prohibiting the maximum burn speed. For more information to trouble shoot your burner read the article You have a general issue burning your disc.
Media. Make sure that your media supports the burn speed of your writer. For best results, contact the manufacturer or the their manual for recommended brands and burn speeds.
Bundled software. OEM software may be limited to change the burn speed and this is beyond Roxio's control as OEM's specify what features are included. For more information on OEM software please read the article What is OEM software?.
