Updating your firmware can be risky business, even if the update comes from the manufacturer of your drive. Make sure you are updating the correct drive and model number before downloading any firmware. Each drive from every manufacturer will have discrete firmware. Improper firmware for your drive can, and usually does, result in destruction of the drive.
