Poor picture quality when exporting to Apple TV.

Cause

This is caused by QuickTime 7.2 when exporting using default Apple TV preset profile.

Resolution

For a workaround, use custom settings instead of Apple TV presets.

In Toast:

a. Select H.264 format.

b. Click Options.
c. Change Data Rate to 2300 kbits/sec.
d. Change Image Size to Custom. Enter 640 x 360 or higher.
e. Click OK.

In Roxio Crunch:
a. Select Apple TV format.
b. For Quality, select Custom.
c. Change Data Rate to 2300 kbits/sec.
d. Change Image Size to Custom. Enter 640 x 360 or higher.
e. Click OK.
