Clean Install Instructions for Simple Backup

Print this Article Issue Clean install instruction are important where files and registry entries have become corrupted.
They are also handy when a complete uninstall/reinstall of the software is necessary to trouble shoot potential conflicts with other software.
Resolution Note: These instructions apply specifically to Windows XP.
To perform a clean reinstallation of Simple Backup.
- Uninstall the current copy of Simple Backup using the "Add/Remove Programs," control panel.
- Delete the "Simple Backup," folder from your hard drive. (By default this is located inside: C:\Program Files\Sonic\)
- Edit the Registry to remove entries relating specifically to Simple Backup. (As a precaution, please export any registry entries before deleting them.)
- To start the Registry Editor, click on "Start," click on to "Run," type "regedit," and click "OK."
- Open the "HKEY_CURRENT_USER" folder. (If this folder does not exist, proceed to step f.)
- Open the "Software" folder.
- Open the "Sonic" folder.
- Right-click on the "Simple Backup" folder and select delete.
- Open the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" folder.
- Open the "Software" folder.
- Open the "Sonic" folder.
- Right-click on the "Simple Backup" folder and select delete.
- Close the Registry Editor.
- Restart your computer.
- Reinstall Simple Backup.
