DLA driver blocked on Vista launch

Check online to see if solutions are available from the Microsoft website. If solutions are found, Windows will automatically display a website that lists steps you can take.

A driver is installed that causes stability problems with your system. This driver will be disabled. Please contact the driver manufacturer for an update that is compatible with this version of Windows.
This error may also appear for customers running applications other than those listed as Vista compatible.

Cause Through a clerical error, a driver is incorrectly being blocked as incompatible with Windows Vista®. In fact, all the above products are Windows Vista® compatible. If you do not have one of the above applications, you will need to upgrade to a Windows Vista® compatible version of the software.
Resolution
Note: This issue was resolved in Creator 10 and higher with streamlined Vista functionality. Visit the Roxio Upgrade Center for the latest version of Creator or call our Inside Sales Team at 1-877-697-6946 (Monday - Friday, 9:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M., EST - excluding Roxio holidays).
Two patches have been created to resolve this issue. One is for retail or trial Roxio customers running Windows Vista compatible software, and the other for Dell users. Please follow the directions below to download and install the patch.
For Retail and Trial Customers
- This patch is offered for both 32-bit and 64-bit systems of Windows Vista®. To determine which system type of Windows you are running:
- Right-click on Computer and select Properties.
- Under the System heading, look for System Type. Next to it, your system type of 32-bit or 64-bit Operating System will be displayed.
- Click the patch that matches your system type below.
- When the Security Warning window appears, click Run.
- Follow the installer's on-screen instructions.
- When prompted to restart your computer, click Yes.
- The computer restarts, and the update is complete.
For Dell Customers
The patch is not intended for a customer base other than Dell. If you do not own a Dell system, it is being offered "as is" and to be used at your own risk.
To download and install the Roxio DLA Update:
- Click here for the DLA patch. When the file Download window appears, click Run. Note: If a Security Warning window appears, Click Run.
- Follow the installer's on-screen instructions.
- When prompted to restart your computer, click Yes.
- The computer restarts, and the update is complete.
Other troubleshooting steps
If you are still having issues with the software, you may want to perform a clean install to make sure you have eliminated any outdated drivers. Keep in mind that the patch listed above was made specifically for the supported applications listed to the right and was corrected in Creator 10.
